Group rows by one column, then calculate metrics for every group — one output row per group.
Description
Groups a table by exactly one column and computes one or more metrics (Sum, Average, Count, Min, Max, First value, Last value, or Nth occurrence) per group, producing one output row per distinct value in the grouping column. Unlike Aggregate, which collapses an entire table into a single row, Group By keeps groups separate — the grouping column's value becomes the identifying first column of each output row.
Best For
Totaling amounts per customer, category, or region
Counting how many rows fall into each status or category
Finding the min/max value within each group, e.g. the latest date per account
How to Use
1Connect your table
Pass any table into Group By's input.
2Choose the grouping column
Select exactly one column to group rows by.
3Add metrics
Pick one or more columns and an aggregation (Sum, Average, Count, Min, Max, First, Last, or Nth occurrence) for each.
Tips & Notes
One row per group, not one row total
If you want the whole table collapsed into a single summary row instead, use the Aggregate node — Group By always keeps groups separate.
