Add Column

Add a new column based on an ordered list of conditions — like Power Query's Add Conditional Column.

Beschreibung

Adds one new column whose value depends on which of an ordered list of condition clauses a row matches first. Each clause uses the same AND/OR condition-group logic as the Filter node, paired with an output value for rows that match it. Clauses are evaluated top to bottom and the first match wins — a row already claimed by an earlier clause is never reconsidered. Any row matching no clause falls through to a required Else value. Output values can be plain text, or a formula like [Amount] using the same syntax as the Formula node.

Am besten geeignet für

  • Bucketing a numeric column into labeled ranges (e.g. Low / Medium / High)
  • Flagging rows that match a business rule with a readable label instead of a raw boolean
  • Choosing between several possible source columns' values depending on which condition a row meets

Verwendung

1Connect your table and name the column
Pass a table into Add Column's input and give the new output column a name.
2Build your first clause
Add a condition group (same AND/OR builder as Filter) and set the value to output when it matches.
3Add more clauses in priority order
Add additional clauses below — they're checked top to bottom, and the first one that matches a row wins.
4Set the Else value
Provide a required fallback value for any row that matches none of your clauses.

Tipps & Hinweise

Order matters
Clauses are evaluated top to bottom and the first match wins — put your most specific conditions before broader, catch-all ones.
Else is required
Every row must resolve to some value, so a fallback Else value is mandatory even if you expect every row to match a clause.
